Most celebrities don’t stop with acting and performing. They often take on sports, design, music, and even restaurants! Tony Shalhoub, for example, owns an eatery in New York City, which received a Michelin star in 2020.
Tony Shalhoub and His New Business

Just like other popular celebrities with a ton of experience in the arts, Tony Shalhoub decided to dabble in other businesses. The Emmy, Tony, and Golden Globe award-winning actor is an investor and part-owner of Rezdôra, an Italian restaurant that recently earned a Michelin star! The Green Bay-born gem can even be found casually visiting his spot in New York City whenever he’s in the big city.
So, why did he choose Rezdôra? The reasons are simple—he loves good food and service. “Other than the fact that I love food, it seemed like a great idea,” Shalhoub told TODAY in February 2022. “We’re so grateful we did it because we get to come here, eat here, bring friends and impress people.”
But Rezdôra is not any ordinary Italian restaurant. Thanks to its excellent dining experience, created by Chef Stefano Secchi, Shalhoub, and Shalhoub’s business partner David Switzer, in 2020 it became a New York Times three-star restaurant and a Michelin star recipient.
The restaurant sets itself apart with its Italian soul and homemade cuisine. In fact, the name—Rezdôra—means “head of household” in Italian and the whole menu is focused on recipes from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. While its best known for its housemade pasta, Rezdôra also offers meat, fish, local vegetables, and Northern Italian wines.
Rezdôra – Home of Italian Food and Celebrities

Italian food is not the only thing you’ll find at Rezdôra. You might also run into a few celebrities! Shalhoub is known to frequent his restaurant and even host fellow famous faces there. For example, he and Kendra Meinert chatted with the Green Bay Press-Gazette at Rezdôra. During the interview, he opened up about growing up and having a big family as well as the inspiration his parents and siblings gave him for acting and business.
“It was great. I mean, my childhood was a lot of siblings and a lot of chaos, I guess the mandatory level of chaos, but my parents were great,” Shalhoub said. “I feel like I learned so much and gained so much from their resilience and their resourcefulness, really. My memories of all of that are good, and our family still is close.”
Fans and tourists absolutely love the experience, too! “More than just a restaurant. It’s an experience! The food & service It’s unbelievable. Will be coming back!!!!” one of the guests wrote on the official Facebook page. “One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. We make it our mission to find good Italian food all over the world and this was one of the best meals we have had,” another added. “It’s a for sure stop. We will definitely come back!”
So, if you’re ever in New York City, be sure to reserve a table at Rezdôra — its Italian cuisine and outstanding wine will transform your experience.
