Big fizzy-drink-oriented companies have been dabbling into the alcohol business lately. So, the Coca-Cola Company is also coming out with a collaboration with Jack Daniel’s – and an official Jack & Coke drink to refresh all of their older fans.
Coca-Cola Is Out With Yet Another Alcoholic Beverage

You’re not the only one to notice: brands have been crazy about alcoholic drinks lately. First, Dunkin’ Donuts collaborates on beers, then Oreo comes out with its wine in partnership with Barefoot, and finally, PepsiCo’s Mtn Dew releases the iconic sodas with 5% of alcohol in each can. Even Coca-Cola’s Fresca launched canned cocktails with a popular taste. But it’s not the only trope Coca-Cola decided to take. Apart from Frisco, the company took a turn in a whiskey direction. And that might just be one of the most exciting decisions it’s made in the last few years, as Coke and whiskey is such a classic mix at every bar!
Called Jack & Coke, these officially canned cocktails are “inspired by the classic bar cocktail [and] will be made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Coca-Cola,” the announcement by Brown-Forman and Coca-Cola companies stated. And fans will be able to spot the new drink right away. Two companies plan to “feature two of the world’s most recognizable and valuable trademarks,” they explained. They will come in two versions – regular and zero sugar – with both releasing globally soon. Mexico, in particular, will get the iconic taste a little earlier, at the end of 2022. This part of the U.S. has one of the best ready-to-drink markets, per Brown-Forman’s spokesperson. The rest will be able to grab a can in the market by the end of 2033. While these drinks are planned to be 5% ABV, the percentage might vary based on different countries.
Classic American Icons

“This relationship brings together two classic American icons to deliver consumers a taste experience they love in a way that is consistent, convenient, and portable,” Lawson Whiting, CEO, and president of Brown-Forman Corporation stated. “Brown-Forman has been a leader in the ready-to-drink category since we launched our first Jack Daniel’s RTD more than 30 years ago. Coca-Cola perfectly complements Jack Daniel’s and our existing RTD offerings, enabling us to accelerate expansion and continue to grow our business around the world.” The two might’ve found a perfect middle ground for the market in 2022. James Quincey, chairman, and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company, though, said that the two are trying their best for the customer base.
“We keep consumers at the center of everything we do as we continue to develop our portfolio as a total beverage company, and that includes new products with our iconic Coca-Cola brand,” he elaborated. Yet, sales of canned cocktails have also shown an incredible peak of popularity in recent years. Furthermore, it’s been beating wine and beer! The category grew 53% last year. Over the next three years, it’s expected to grow 29% more, per IWSR Drinks Analysis data.
So, the Coca-Cola Company has a few other releases. For example, Fresca Mixed should come out later this year, and another cocktail by the Corona brewer is on the way.
