Iconic singer Rihanna recently revealed that she’d love to have kids soon – with or without a man. Take a look at what she said and what her options are!
The Only Thing That Matters Is Happiness
Like many others, Rhianna recently revealed that she has a ten year plan, and it includes children! Despite working on her company Fenty Beauty and a ninth music album, she said she’ll have three or four kids for sure. However, as an indepdenent woman, Rhianna does not want to depend on a man. “I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong…’ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives,” the star singer said in a recent interview. “But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”
Fans have known for quite some time that RiRi wants children, given her frequent pictures with her niece on social media. Meanwhile, the pop star also frequently talks about her own childhood and how she wants to provide everything she didn’t have to her future kids. “The Guyanese are like the Mexicans of Barbados,” she said. “I really relate and empathize with Mexican people or Latino people, who are discriminated against in America. I know what it feels like to have the immigration come into your home in the middle of the night and drag people out.”
Joining The Loving Mothers Troop
While Rihanna is one of the bigger celebrities who are open about kids, there are many others that have the same outlook. Sandra Bullock adopted her daughter Laila after divorcing Jesse James, for example. That happened in 2015, while the ex-couple adopted their son Luis in 2010.
Actress Kristin Davis had the same situation as Rihanna – she wanted a child very badly. After going through different relationships, she didn’t feel like she found her true love. So, she adopted a child alone. Her daughter Gemma Rose joined the family in 2011. Only seven years later, the son Davis became a part of the family as well. Charlize Theron is adopting children alone, too. Her first daughter Jackson was adopted after she broke up with Stuart Townsend, and the second daughter August was adopted in 2015 after Theron left Sean Penn. After growing up in South Africa and seeing many children alone in orphanages, Theron always wanted to adopt her kids instead of giving birth.
We’ll see what Rihanna chooses for herself. In the end, she and her children’s happiness will matter the most.
