One’s wedding day should be the greatest day of their life. After all, not only does the event take months of planning, it’s a day where you proclaim your love in front of family and friends. Given all a wedding means to a couple, its no wonder that so many brides keep their wedding dresses after the big day. So, when Tiffany Morgan lost her wedding dress, she could not believe it. Unfortunately, after searching for hours, Morgan gave up hope. Thankfully, a stranger would soon change everything…
An Abandoned Box
One day, while driving to her job outside of Denver, Colorado, Sara Wells noticed a box on the side of the road. “I’m that kind of person that stops and checks boxes on the road for animals that have been dumped,” said Wells. Without a moment’s hesitation, she pulled over to the side of the highway and opened up the box. Inside, Wells did not find kittens, but instead a white dress neatly wrapped in plastic. Looking at the outside of the box, she noticed the word “wedding dress” written in black pen. Wells knew she could not simply leave the box behind. “Since I’m a part-time wedding planner, I couldn’t walk away,” the kind woman said. “I had to try to find the owner.”
“It was packed very well, so it’s obviously something that was cared about. I’m assuming it just fell off a moving truck. One of those fluke accidents that is very unfortunate,” Wells continued. The wedding planner could not stand the idea of a woman having lost one of her most precious items and memories in the world. Or, even worse, a bride heading to her wedding without a dress! Knowing that she needed to help, but not knowing how, Wells turned to social media.
Lost and Found
After she found the dress, Wells posted about the item on multiple social media channels, including Facebook and NextDoor. Of course, a few freeloaders tried to snag the dress of Wells, but she managed to outwit them with questions about the dress and box. Then, a younger woman, Tiffany Morgan, contacted Wells. Instantly, she was able to describe everything about the box and the dress. The bride had found her dress!
“My husband and I are moving up to the mountains to get away from the hubbub of Denver, and I didn’t quite have it tied down,” Morgan explained later. “It was my first load up because I was driving back up and down with boxes. It fell off, and I didn’t realize it until three hours later.” Thankfully, what could have turned into a never-ending nightmare became wrapped up quite quickly, all thanks to the actions of Sara Wells!
What’s Next?
When asked about Wells, Morgan said that she appreciated not only Wells’ actions, but also her soul. The fact that she stopped, thinking that there could be some animals in there worth saving, and then to find my dress and follow up, it is very appreciated,” she said. While Morgan loves that she has her dress back, she said the entire situation has also made her think about what’s truly important. As such, she’s considering donating the dress, so someone less fortunate can have it for free or low-cost!
Wells is happy, no matter what Morgan ultimately decides. “Wherever it ends up, it’s meant to be, it’s run its course, and everybody has an answer, which is why I’m happy with it,” Wells said. “The fact that she wants to donate it, I think it is wonderful. Very generous of her.”
